in Maui have spent time in Europe and the Canary Islands.
What else have you been doing since High School? Within a couple years
after high school, I was performing with the Oxymoron'z Improv Comedy Troupe
and was studying acting at a studio. I had a few small roles and was signed
with an agent, and began considering moving to LA and testing my luck in
Hollywood... but right about then, fate stepped in and I met my
husband-to-be, Mike. He was in Arizona for the summer, but was unfortunately
going to school in Utah. So, I had to expend all my efforts into chasing him
down and convincing him to marry me! I transfered to BYU & left the acting
as a hobby rather than a career. As a side note, I did continue to act in
several SLC productions until the birth of my son, and hope to continue in
local productions at some point.
We got married in 1998, and have moved back and forth between Utah and
Arizona a couple of times during the early years, but have now settled just
north of Salt Lake City (near Bountiful for those of you that know the
area). We really love this area and hope to stay for awhile, but I wouldn't
mind moving back to AZ-- Mike can attest to the fact that I often remind him
of how nice the AZ winters are! We have one boy, Riley, who will be 2 in
December. He is the joy of our lives, and he is so much fun to have! His
latest tricks are swimming with his floaties (all by himself), learning new
words by the dozens (some good, some not-so-good, some totally
indecipherable), and practicing all his animal sounds (he especially likes
to imitate a monkey, snake, or rooster).
We love to travel, as I mentioned above, and try to squeeze every ounce of
vacation time from our jobs so we can get away! Our favorite spots are
Arizona, St. George, Utah; Florida, Hawaii, and Mexico. We love Hawaii and
try to go as often as possible-- we have visited 4 of the 5 islands and have
just had such a great time that we keep going back! We have especially
enjoyed kayaking, hiking, and SCUBA diving. We even took a surfing lesson
on this last trip & rode a few small waves all the way to the shore!
I took up running in 1999, and have completed 3 full marathons, 2 half
marathons, 2 sprint triathalons, and a handful of other races. I even ran a
5k while 8 months pregnant with my son (although it was more like slow,
elephant-jogging than running!). Unfortunately, I had to cut back on my
running schedule this year because of a foot injury, but as soon as I am
back at full speed, I hope to qualify for the Boston Marathon & run there as
well. Mike does his share of running after Riley while I am out on training
runs or races, so it's kind of a family affair even if I'm the only one with
a race number.
That about sums it up-- I was offered a job-share position with XO
Communications in August of 2003, and have really enjoyed the mix of career
and home life. Mike works for AT&T Wireless as a Sales Manager over the
Northern part of Utah, Idaho, and now Reno, NV. As such, he travels
regularly and sometimes, Riley & I get to tag along!

Favorite High School memory: Prom-- dinner at Bobby McGee's (which no longer
exists), dancing at the Buttes, but mainly I loved the fancy Prom dress, the
big hair and the big puffy sleeves, the faint sound of "Forever Young"
playing in the distance. Those were the days...
Least favorite High school memory: I was once threatened by several members
of the Pom Line that I would get beat up if I didn't stop stealing their
boyfriends-- which, in my defense, was not intentional nor as widespread as
they claimed. To be clear, these were not the more petite girls on the
squad. They were older, bigger, and meaner than me and I was scared for my
life... okay, well at the very least, my reputation! Maybe someday I can
confront them on Jerry Springer-- wasn't there an episode entitled "Pommies
Ruined My Life!"
Actually, I soon healed from the indicent, but still maintain a healthy fear
of pom-pom's. :)
Most embarrassing High School Memory: Freshman year-- just after the Student
Council Elections, we were inducted into office by a series of embarassing
stunts, including, but not limited to, being kidnapped in the early morning
hours, labled "FROSH" across the forehead with lipstick, dressed up oddly,
and then duct-taped to a pole near the Senior lockers. I think they call
that "hazing" today, but back then, it was a good old-fashioned MHS Welcome!
Favorite Song in High School: I seem to recall a certain affinity for Ace of
Base "The Sign." And although I won't admit it in public, I too fell victim
to the Spin Doctors "2 Princes" and a variety of Salt-n-Pepa/SVW/En
Vogue-type songs.
Who did you kiss in high school? I'm sure I have a list somewhere (sad but
true), and I think it's better left in the archives.
Who was your high school crush? My secret crush was on Juan Carlos Aguilar,
and I'm pretty sure he had no idea I existed! That secret is officially out
now!

If you had to do it all over again, what would you do differently? I would
have studied less and partied more! After all, you're only young once!
Either that, or I would have studied more & gone to Med School. Either way,
I think I may have ended up in a hospital, so I guess things worked out okay

What else have you been doing since High School? (this is your time to brag) I left for Marine Corps boot camp a few days after graduation and haven't looked back since. After boot camp, my first duty station was MCAS Iwakuni, Japan where I spent 2 years there. I loved being there and seeing a different culture and experience new things. I left Japan and was stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. While there, I married my wife Deborah and had our first child, Elizabeth. Finally, now I'm stationed down here at MCAS Yuma, AZ. I've been here for almost 4 years and since that time I've been active with the Station Military Honor Detail. This detail includes doing Color Guards for various events and also performing Military Funeral Details. And now Deborah and I are expecting our second child due in March and I'm waiting for orders for either to go to Iraq or to be stationed at another Marine Corps Air Station.

Working in the Healthcare Information Systems industry has been a great experience for me and has given me the
opportunity to travel to many different places and interact with different cultures. When I first entered the industry
I traveled extensively, but in the last few years I have been able to work from my home office 95% of the
time (The other 5% happened to fall on the date of the reunion). This allowed me to focus on building my
company, Avey-Medd Homes. My home building company has recently taken off after several years of planning, sweat, blood and tears.
We build custom homes in the 500k to 900k market. We estimate to build over 30 homes next year.

I met my husband 3 years ago, and we got married last August in France. He's commercial director for a French company here, and I've been working for USAID economic growth division for the past 3.5 years. Served a mission for my church in Argentina for 18 months. Returned to finish my degree. Wanted to finish a minor in Dance, but I got married before finishing it. Married Aaron Chan, a friend from my freshman year in college. Lived in the Bay Area while he finished his Post graduate education in Chiropractic and now live in WA. We have two great boys, Dallin: 3 years and Ashton: 4 months.

I did this until three weeks before we had our son who is now five. We also have a daughter (17 months old). I met my husband, Jason, at church and we were married May of 1998. Now I am the choir director at our church.

Favorite High School memory: Either Junior Prom or band tour to Florida. Both were amazingly fun!!
Least favorite High school memory: I didn't practice for Regional Auditions for Choir and got a horrible score. It took me a few weeks to feel comfortable singing out in choir practice.
Most embarrassing High School Memory: After singing my solo audition for the high school musical, I started clapping. Because of nerves I didn't realize I was doing that until I saw two people laughing and pointing at me saying, "She's clapping for herself!!"

What else have you been doing since High School? After High School I became a member of the Phoenix Suns Dance Team. I was a member of the dance team for 7 years. It was a great experience for me to perform for thousands of people, travel, and meet alot of exciting people. After seven years of dancing for the Suns I decided to go on my own and open a dance studio. It's been a goal of mine for many years. I opened "All About Dance" in North Scottsdale in August of 2000. I recently got married in October of 2003. My wonderful husband is Andy Bauer who is originally from Chicago. We reside in Scottsdale and love every minute of it! In December of 2003 my husband and I became partners in a Scottsdale restaurant, Salty Senorita. Starting a family is in the near future and will be a blast! I have expanded my career as a social worker and have helped many at risk youth get through their adolescence. I have many dear friends and love my life. I am a social worker by heart, so I can't say that I have made a lot of money. Traveled the world. I am an Aunt to 8 beautiful children. Now, I work hard to help children get out of homes where they are being hurt and to me this is my most successful point in my life. Haven't found the love of my life, but I am having fun trying to find him. Overall I think life has been good to me.

Well in high school I would not have taken everything so seriously and feel as if the world depended on what I wore and how I looked. I would definitely have not been so shy and introverted. Interesting Travels: During college, I toured Europe on a student's
budget. Since college, my career has provided me the opportunity to see

and Quebec City). And on my own dime, I have explored Paris for a

time, London, Australia, St. Thomas and St. Johns, Puerto Rico, and

I went to school, took a job in Newport Beach, CA, (yep, the OC) upon
graduation. Landed a promotion 9 months later that took me to the Bay
Area. Fellow alum Ryan Baros joined me a year later and became my
all-time
favorite roommate (aside from my husband) for two years in San
Francisco
before he ran off to LA for a job (I had to figure out how to do the
dishes
on my own again after that). I met my husband three years ago at a
North
Beach bar (and they say there are no straight men in San Francisco). We
were engaged the following year and were married last November by his
uncle
(in true California fashion, he was ordained over the internet) at a
winery
in Napa Valley.
